I am a counselling psychologist. I did my post-graduate certificate and diploma in psychology at Oxford Brookes University. After that, I trained on the professional doctorate programme at Regent’s College School of Psychotherapy and Counselling Psychology, and completed my doctorate in 2011. I am registered with the Health Professions Council (HPC), and hold charetrship with the British Psychological Society, abiding by their code of ethics in my practice.

I have worked in different counselling services, including charity organisations and NHS psychology services. I have worked with people in one-to-one therapy for different lengths of time. Sometimes, the work has been short and focused, while on other occasions, I have worked with people for a few years.

I have also worked in psychological research, and you can find out more about this here if you are interested.

I am fascinated in philosophy, in how people experience the world, and what makes people’s lives meaningful and fulfilling. These interests fuel my passion for the work I do as a psychologist, and I bring my appreciation for these areas into my approach.

I grew up in Johannesburg, South Africa, and moved to England when I was 18, after spending a year in Canada. I have lived in different parts of the UK over the years, and came to London six years ago. Moving to different countries and cities was a challenge. It was exciting, but also daunting. Everything was unfamiliar, everybody else seemed to be going about their business, and it took time to settle in. I learnt a great deal from these challenging experiences.

Throughout my training as a counselling psychologist, I have been in long-term therapy and I am so thankful for the explorations and self-discoveries I have made along the way. I have learnt how to change some things in my life, but I have also definitely learnt about who I am, and some of those things I would never change. Being able to talk about it all has made all the difference.
