W h a t   I   o f f e r

I offer professional psychological input to help you with current difficulties or stuck points in your life. We can do this in a number of different ways, depending on your needs and preferences. Face-to-face sessions are a good way to begin so that we can get to know one another and decide how we would like to work together.  We can also discuss options for bite-size supplementary sessions through email counselling, Skype, or telephone sessions.

W h a t   k i n d   o f   t h e r a p y   i s   i t ?

Maybe you have heard about how therapy works, been to therapy before, or seen it in the movies. So maybe you have an image in mind of what this might be like. People have different styles in approaching this work. Let me paint you a picture of what it might be like to meet me.

  I don’t expect you to lie on a couch, but I do want to ensure that we create a comfortable and relaxing space in which to work. We will discuss what kind of space would feel most comfortable for you, and try to create that together.

It's not one size fits all: You may have heard of therapies that use special techniques to tackle the problem, and give you homework to practice afterwards. We might consider using creative tools at certain times to help our explorations, but I don’t rely on these. Together we will work out what is going to be most helpful for you.

I am not going to tell you what to do: Maybe this sounds surprising, but I am not going to tell you how you should live your life. I definitely want to help you figure out what is best for you, and what things might need to change to make this possible, but I don’t think there is a “right” way to live. What we discover and decide will be specific to you.
