"Challenging the meaning of life is the truest

expression of the state of being human"

~ Viktor Frankl ~

We lead lives that are fast-paced, intense and unrelenting. London can be a particularly difficult place to live because everyone around is rushing by, pre-occupied with their own lives, too busy to notice what is going on around. Perhaps you have found yourself doing the same? I know I have. Because of our own pressures and stresses, we don’t have time or energy to concern ourselves with those around us. Sometimes, it takes all we can muster just to look after ourselves. So our relationships with others suffer and we feel disconnected from others. We might spend all day talking without feeling anyone has really heard or understood us. We may feel alone with our problems, unable to discuss them with our friends or family because they seem too busy, and we don’t want to trouble them. Sometimes it looks like everyone else is getting on with life just fine. We might think: “Nobody else is struggling; it’s only me who has problems”. This can make us feels scared, anxious, or ashamed.

But ...Everybody struggles in life. Sometimes, it’s just hard to say so.

It’s “normal” to have problems, and find things difficult sometimes; pretending that we don’t can be worse. Maybe you think the problem is not BIG enough to trouble anyone else with, and you should manage on your own.  No problem is too small to be talked through. In fact, talking about the small problems can stop them snowballing into big, insurmountable ones. No matter how insignificant you think it is, talking your problem through can make a world of difference.
